The running miles spiked up in the week of Jan 17 thru Jan 23 because I moved a run from Sunday Jan 16 to Monday Jan 17--making it add miles to the next week.  Normally I never move workouts from one week to the next as this creates an imbalance in training flow.  Keeping balance or controlled flow that increases and/or decreases consistently allows your body to adapt and/or recover the ways its supposed to.  I didn't think this was an issue considering it was a one day move.  Now, skipping a Thursday run and moving it into then next week would have been a problem.  Then you're talking too much time between runs, increasing from one week to the next by over 50%, etc.  That would not have been good.

This week (Jan 31-Feb 6) is a much needed R & R week (Rest and Recovery).  Planned training drops, then with the start of Base 2, it will increase gradually again.  Long workouts will get a bit longer, and some of the work will go up in intensity just a bit...

R&R week of Jan 31-Feb 6 training outlook (planned):
  • Swim: 35 min
  • Bike: 2 h 17 min
  • Run: 1 h 22 min
  • Weights: 1 h 2 min
  • TOTAL: 5 hours 16 minutes
Train on!
