The Tri-Rochester season wrap-up party was
Saturday, September 11, 2010 I mean, Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Glynners Pub in Rochester. It was moved to Sunday due to a little snow we got on Fri/Saturday. Besides it being a season ending get-together, two, well three, main things occurred. 1) the new board was announced, including new Club President, Matt Maurer. 2) Awards were given out, and 3) Swag!!!
As for the awards... For the first time, club members were nominated and voted on, over the last couple of weeks, by other club members for awards. Here's how it turned out:
- Rookie of the Year: Mike Schmitt
- "Seasoned" Athlete of the Year: Mike Ewen
- Female Athlete of the Year: Joanna Hall
- Male Athlete of the Year: Alex Hooke
- Club MVP: Pattie Ekman
Also, the sponsors kicked in a TON of prizes for drawings:
American Family Insurance (Carin Minelli),
Final Stretch Inc, Glynners, RAK Chiropractic, Rochester Cycling & Fitness, and the
Running Room (hope I didn't forget any). Every one left with something and something else, and maybe even something else. Final Stretch's contribution was 6 free race entries to any of their twenty 2011 events!!
