2010 FALLS DUATHLON

Tomorrow is pretty much the multisport season opener in the area, not counting indoor tri's and du's.  The Falls Du is a 2 mile run, 14 mile bike, 3 mile run.  This is not a high priority race for me, but I want to do the best I can as that will give me a good idea of where I'm at, at this point in 2010.  Forecast looks great for the runs, but for the bike--not so much.  The bike course is an out-n-back that goes north, turns around, and you come straight back.  It's supposed to be sunny till 9--the a wind advisory kicks in with 20 mph wind from the SW.  That means we are going into the wind on the way back on the bike.  Great.  If possible, I'd like to finish right around the time that I did last year, but with the horrible wind, just making back for the final run may be a challenge.  Placing where I did in 2009 is not a goal as the competition is beef'd up a little more this year as well as the total number of participants.  Here's my recap from the 2009 Falls Du .

Good luck. Use the wind to advantage......as others will 'mail it in' and not push into the wind while you charge into it and gain/increase time advantage.
